      Courses for lawyers

Litigation overview

Synopsis

RTA litigation is no longer the preserve of qualified lawyers. Those who work in this sector include non-legally-qualified personnel such as claims handlers, paralegals, litigation executives and apprentices. It’s therefore business-critical that everyone working in this field understands the litigation process.

This course provides an overview of RTA litigation (small claims and fast track only), from the pre-action checks, to what happens at trial, and everything in between.

Delegates will learn the terminology and litigation procedure that they need to get to grips with in order to do their job properly. Our tutors will explain the importance of complying with Directions and the CPR, as well as what can happen if you don’t follow them.

  • Understand the legal terminology used in RTA litigation
  • Know where to find the rules governing small claims and fast track cases

  • Understand the key elements when drafting court documents
