We lawyers write a lot. We get paid for writing. We write about important things too, whether they are for our clients or our law firms.
Three simple reasons (of course, there are more…) for making sure that we are very good at writing.
No one doubts that writing is a core skill for lawyers. Nor does anyone doubt that most lawyers can do it pretty well.
So why isn’t great writing by lawyers more common? Why do so many of our clients give up reading in frustration? Why don’t our opponents cave in immediately after receiving each blockbuster email? Why are the articles we write so dull?
