James Welsh
James has been at the forefront of communication skills training for two decades. He was awarded a Professorial Seat in 2018 for his impact in Legal Education – particularly in the field of communication. He has delivered training on persuasive communication (written and oral) nationally and internationally, and in both the legal and in the commercial sectors.
After graduating with a degree in Politics, James was called to the Bar in 1994. He is a door tenant at 9 Bedford Row, London. From 2001 to 2018 he was on the faculty at BPP University. For a decade he had a senior leadership role at the University, and was the Director of the Bar Programmes. He has worked on projects with organisations including The Home Office, the NHS, the Metropolitan Police, the Forensic Science Service, the CFA Institute, Coca Cola European Partners, and the Service Prosecuting Authority. He has worked internationally in Albania and St Helena and provided consultancy for the government of South Korea.
James has 2 boys to whom he is devoted. He loves to cook. He spends quite a lot of time worrying that he might never quite be able to boast; 1) a backhand topspin in tennis, and 2) a proper understanding of how DNA works.
