Professional Skills Course

PSC Client care and professional standards

Our Client Care and Professional Standards courses will ensure that trainee solicitors are equipped with the essential skills they will need to manage client relationships, to comply with their core professional obligations, and to organise their workload.

As a result of attending the course, trainees will:

  • understand the importance of client relationship management alongside legal expertise
  • understand a solicitor's core ethical obligations and how to avoid breaches
  • make better decisions whilst working under pressure
  • make a more effective contribution to your business

The course is divided into three parts.

Part I:   Client care and communication skills
Part II:  Professional standards
Part III: Work and case management

To view the content of each part of this course, please download the PDFs on this page.

We can deliver parts I, II and III of the PSC Client Care and Professional Standards separately, or all together over 2 days. Just let us know and we’ll fit in to suit you!

Please note that the SRA do not allow trainees to complete the entire course until they have served at least 6 months in a training contract.

Individual and group exercises using your firm’s documents and protocols and also video reconstructions.
