Fraud Prevention in Law Firms

Fraud Prevention in Law Firms

The Economic Crime and Transparency Act 2023 introduced the criminal offence of “failure to prevent fraud”. A large firm can be criminally liable if an employee commits fraud with the intent to benefit the firm or a client.

This course helps law firms to manage and reduce the risk of fraudulent behaviour by their staff, whether or not your firm meets the “large organisation” threshold set by the ECTA 2023.

Who is it for?

All law firm staff for module 1

Managers, supervisors and owners for module 2

E-learning overview

This course helps firms to manage the risk of fraudulent behaviour.  The first module focuses on what amounts to a fraud offence, how to prevent fraud and what staff must do if they suspect fraud.

The second module is additional training for managers, supervisors and owners.  It focuses on what steps they should be taking in order to protect the firm.

There are two versions of the course depending on whether your firm meets the “large organisation” threshold set by the ECTA 2023.  Get in touch if your firm is a large organisation.
